Aging Well at Home: An Interactive Lecture About Pitfalls to Avoid While Aging at Home

90% of older adults want to remain living in their own homes until they die. This choice can lead to complicated medical, legal and emotional challenges. Growing old in Marin presents unique obstacles because of its large older population, high cost of living and large concentration of Baby Boomers.

This highly interactive seminar will cover subjects including dementia warning signs, intentional and unintentional elder abuse, costs of home care, isolation issues and care giver respite.

High Tech High Touch: A new paradigm to age in place

89% of people in America do not want to leave their homes. Moreover, most of these older adults will be living alone in their own homes and receiving care from a variety of health providers who will work closely with family caregivers and community-based service providers. Yet what’s the alternative to create a system that does not impose a burden on family members? Combining caring people with innovative technology to keep elders safe and secure and providing five–star hospitality services is the solution for a comprehensive model to age in place. This mix of caring people, technology, and extensive expertise in gerontology is the key to being able to keep people living and aging within their own homes regardless of whether they are healthy and engaged or dealing with chronic physical illness or any type of dementia.
